  I see the problem on GNU/Linux (Fedora):

Warning (python): Your ‘python-shell-interpreter’ doesn’t seem to
support readline, yet ‘python-shell-completion-native’ was t and
"python" is not part of the
‘python-shell-completion-native-disabled-interpreters’ list.  Native
completions have been disabled locally.

Python 2.7.13 (default, Jan 13 2017, 10:15:16)
[GCC 6.3.1 20161221 (Red Hat 6.3.1-1)] on linux2
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> python.el: native completion setup loaded

>>> q<TAB>qu<TAB>
Click on a completion to select it.
In this buffer, type RET to select the completion near point.

Possible completions are:
quit
quopri

In GNU Emacs 25.1.1 (x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 3.20.9)
 of 2016-10-13 built on buildvm-05.phx2.fedoraproject.org
Windowing system distributor 'Fedora Project', version 11.0.11803000

  Thanks.
