Looks like this patch is still hanging in the air... did we want to wait
on this until after we decided that we want post-open and pre-close
hooks, or do we want to do something with this regardless?

I still think that the hooks/function list and this feature
(close-last-tab-choice) are complimentary and should both be
implemented.
