And, indeed, doing the same on the current master makes the segfault go
away and gives me a working Emacs on high sierra:
In GNU Emacs 28.0.50 (build 6, x86_64-apple-darwin17.7.0, NS appkit-1561.60 Version 10.13.6 (Build 17G2208))
of 2020-09-05 built on high-sierra.local
