Subject: CVS repository synchronization for RefTeX
Date: Thu, 28 Dec 2006 23:53:02 +0100	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <87k60b7hv5.fsf@neutrino.caeruleus.net> (raw)

Hi,

maintenance of RefTeX will likely be continued by the AUCTeX project.
On the AUCTeX developers list it is currently being discussed how
maintenance of RefTeX will be done in its own CVS repository.
Something it hasn't had before. Since RefTeX is also present in the
CVS repository of Emacs there might be the need to synchronize both
repositories to some extent.

What I am particularly concerned about is how maintainers of RefTeX
will be informed about changes made in Emacs' repository and how those
changes will get propagated back to RefTeX's repository. AFAIK such
synchronization is handled automatically for Gnus by Miles. Would it
be possible and sensible to provide something like this for RefTeX as
well? How do other projects with repositories outside of Emacs, like
CC mode or MH-E, handle this?
