What is the elpa script?
I launch cygwin/X and launch emacs-x11 from an xterm or from WindowMaker.

I use emacs-x11 (version 23.0.92.1) too on cygwin.
Have you a (require 'slime) in ~/.emacs?
Here is my ~/.emacs, as you can see, I didn't set load-path, and
everything works as expected.

In emacs, what's your load-path?
Type:
M-x ielm RET
(setq print-length nil) RET
(setq print-level nil) RET
load-path RET

Hi,
I am using GNU emacs 23 in cygwin. I dont have emacs /lisp background. I
got as far as running the elpa script in the elisp window. The I can
highlight and "I" a package, then hit "x" . Some packages seem to work,
like "dictionary", however I want to try "slime"
slime 20091016 installed Superior Lisp Interaction Mode
for Emac
it says "no such file or directory"
also do you know if xemacs is preferred in cywin?
Thanks
Brian
