I don't care about this anymore because it won't happen. Why discuss it? The next time you don't want to do something, just say we don't want to do it. That will be enough, I promise. I like my ideas but am not fanatical about some math library issue, I'm happy to drop the discussion anytime! If it really is about me, and my supposed lack of skills, then I look forward to meet the person who you guys think have just the right competence to do it.
