Using ffap, I see when I do C-x d ESC p ESC p, things like
~/debian//usr/share/doc/gnucap/
are disturbingly shown to me, instead of the more cleaned up versions like
/usr/share/doc/gnucap/
I want to see the cleaned up versions, not the shortcuts I typed.

That's why I always type TAB before RET when entering file names.
