Subject: shell: C-c C-c can't interrupt bash

Is what the screen looked like in *shell* after I mistyped the quote
mark and typed RET. It took C-c C-c C-c C-c C-c C-d
to finally get thru to the shell to interrupt for another prompt,
i.e. C-c C-c was not getting thru. That was with bash. With csh, C-c
C-c gets thru after typing "echo a \ RET", but BTW I notice there is
no secondary prompt, like bash's ">". Outside of shell, csh gives "?"
as secondary prompt. Emacs version is in my headers.
