Using
#+LATEX_HEADER: \newlength\mytextheight\AtBeginDocument{\makeatletter\setlength\mytextheight{\beamer@frametextheight}\makeatother}
also leads to the error
! Undefined control sequence.
<argument> \beamer
So I went with \paperheight instead, which works fine.
