ecb-mode under debian/testing

ecb-mode under debian/testing

Hi

does any one knows whether ecb "emacs code browser" works right off
the installation when installed under debian/testing?
I have all installed according to debian apt-get but when I C-h v
ecb-aut<tab> to reveal `ecb-auto-activate' I get [no match] and so is
the case with other variables from ecb.
my setup for 'auto-mode-Alisa' in my .emacs is

ecb-help-html-path		   ecb-help-info-path

the fix "for the records"

put the next line in you .emacs
(setq ecb-auto-activate t)
save and RESTART emacs
open a code file in the language supported by ecb.
M-x ecb-activate<RET>

What exactly is/was your problem? and is it already fixed? I'm not sure if i
understand your second posting....

Does anything not work properly in ECB with debian? BTW: Which version of ECB
you are using (C-h v ecb-version RET)?
