bug#6446: 23.2; doc-view-mode and C-x C-v

I'm not sure what the bug reported here is.  Is it that doc-view won't
display PDFs if doc-view-cache-directory is deleted?  If so, I'm unable
to reproduce this bug in Emacs 27.
