Hello all

I use Emacs from CVS on my SuSE 10.1 box. I connect to box with Exceed
X-emulator. During last two weeks i saw, that sometimes Emacs eat all
cpu time. I had updated today and rebuild emacs, but it still use all
processor time. Here is trace of emacs execution. file handle 7 - tcp
connection to exceed

GNU Emacs 22.0.50.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.8.3) of
2006-10-03 on seal

Do you have semantic or CEDET (which includes semantic) installed? Then
it's the same problem I reported some days ago. See the thread starting
with <873baae0js.fsf@baldur.nicundtas.de>.

The solution was to update semantic-idle.el from CEDET CVS.

I have the same problem now, but it does not help for me to update
semantic-idle.el. It seems to be this that causes the problem:

    (load-file "c:/dl/emacs/cedet-1.0pre3/common/cedet.el")

Are you using the same version of cedet as me, Tassilo? Could you
perhaps send me your version of semantic-idle.el?

1.0-pre3 with semantic-idle.el from CVS HEAD.

I've sent it by mail.

Thanks Tassilo, I have tested with the version of semantic-idle.el that you sent me, but I still get 100% CPU in Emacs.

To reproduce this do the following:

- Start with "emacs -Q"

- Evaluate (load-file "YOUR-PATH-TO-CEDET/cedet-1.0pre3/common/cedet.el")

- Then open for example a elisp file.

In GNU Emacs 22.0.50.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.0.2195)
 of 2006-10-11

Sorry, I cannot reproduce it. Did you say that not loading cedet fixes
the bug? If yes, then it may have something to do with two patches my
distribution applies to cedet-1.0_pre3.

These two patches applied to cedet-1.0_pre3 + the semantic-idle.el I've
sent you should give the exact version I'm working with here without
problems.

If the bug occurs without loading cedet at all, it is caused by another
package...
