Is it possible to set the line ending style on VC-log commit edit
buffer?
C-x RET f unix
does not work. The commit message that is sent to the backend still
contains /r/n line endings.
For the curious, I'm trying to workaround this bug on Bazaar:

Could be this works (example for an encoding):
(prefer-coding-system 'iso-8859-15-unix)

No, it doesn't work. The commit message that is passed as an argument to
the external application still has \r\n.

just guessing here - it's possible that Unix line ending convention does
not kick in until you *save* the buffer (which you probably don't,
suppose you are just adding a comment to your checkin)
maybe performing a search and replace "\r" => "" on the buffer would
help; not sure if adding such a translation to vc-before-checkin-hook
would be of any use here but it's worth a try
