No, this is not what I suggested.  Others have suggested this and I have
no idea if this is meant to work or not.  What I suggested is hiding the
table within an inline task, as in this example:

|------------+--------------------------+---------|
| 2016/11/18 | initial draft            |     1.0 |
| 2017/05/04 | put in models of grief   |     1.5 |

|            |                          |         |

You would probably want to name the table so you can access it
elsewhere, of course.
