Isn't `(a \, b) just another read syntax for `(a . (\, b)), which is
another syntax for `(a . ,b) ?

With other words, I think `(a \, b) and `(a . ,b) are different read
syntaxes for the same expression, equivalent to (cons 'a b).

Michael.
