In a Gnus *Article* buffer, place the cursor on
an attachment, and do M-x describe-text-properties .
Here is a ‘button’ button labeled ‘[4. image/jpeg; Screenshot_20201030-160838.jpg]...’.
There are text properties here:
article-type annotation
button (t)
category default-button
face gnus-button
follow-link t
gnus-callback gnus-mm-display-part
gnus-data [Show]
gnus-face t
gnus-part 4
help-echo "mouse-2: toggle the MIME part; down-mouse-3: more options"
keymap [Show]
mouse-face highlight
rear-nonsticky t
OK, that's great. However clicking on [Show] just flashes the screen.
C-h e doesn't reveal why, either.
At least print a message.

By "clicking" I'm guessing you mean `mouse-1'? Use `mouse-2' instead.
Closing.

retitle Say "use mouse-2" instead of flashing the screen
thanks
The average user is more likely to click with mouse-1.
So clicking with mouse-1 or mouse-3 should cause a message to appear,
saying to click with mouse-2.
Simply flashing the screen will make it appear emacs is broken.
Thanks.

I think you accidentally sent these to control@bugs.debian.org instead
of control@debbugs.gnu.org.
I suggest in the future you Bcc, not Cc, the control server.

Yeah. I decided to open a more general bug now.

See `mouse-1-click-follows-link'.

Actually, I closed this prematurely. There was a bug here -- the [Show]
buttons didn't have the correct markup for this to work. This has now
been fixed on the trunk.
