Well, when we are typing linearly, we don't want the block cursor to be on the character we just typed, but ahead. I just did C-h h C-x C-q, went into the Hebrew text and typed a few characters (like x or ( ) since ( ) are not strictly L-R). I got seasick. -- David Kastrup
