I think that's GTK's IMContextSimple. What does "echo $GTK_IM_MODULE"
get you? Maybe you can try:

gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.keyboard active false

I've only fooled with the edges of this stuff, but maybe something in
the above will get you there.
