Is it correct that main or master is the same thing as the Emacs trunk
branch?  If so, I wonder why the git repository containing just this is
so large: my bzr Emacs repository only contains the trunk (as a bound
branch), several local branches of it, and the emacs-24 branch; the
.bzr/ directory of the repository, containing all the history, is only
428 MiB, not 1.1 GiB (the trunk directory itself contains an additional
129.3 MiB, but the total is still half the size of the git repo).  Why
is the git repository so much larger than the bzr repository?
