I have the feeling there is some over-engineering involved there.
In any case, instead of relying on `help-function-arglist', I suggest to
use something lightweight:
(condition-case err
(funcall ...)
(wrong-number-of-arguments
(user-error "Please ..."))
(invalid-function
(user-error "Please ...")))
