Hello Emacs devs,

may I ask for write permissions to the Emacs git repository? I have my
papers signed. I enclose my public key.

TIA,

Sure; can you please submit a membership request on Savannah? It should be a
matter of just clicking a button to request developer access, and then we can
approve it, giving you Git permissions.

Done, thanks; I also uploaded my key there.

Thanks. I got the email telling me that I was granted the permissions,
however, it seems I cannot push. Here's what I did (using Magit):

git push -v origin fix-21072-patch:refs/heads/fix-21072-patch

Pushing to git://git.savannah.gnu.org/emacs.git
Looking up git.savannah.gnu.org ... done.
Connecting to git.savannah.gnu.org (port 9418) ... 208.118.235.201 done.
fatal: remote error: access denied or repository not exported: /emacs.git

Am I doing something wrong?

TIA,

You can also insert `--push` in there if you want to pull via the Git
protocol but push via ssh.

For advanced usage, you can
git config --global --add url.ssh://git.sv.gnu.org/srv/git/.pushinsteadof git://git.sv.gnu.org/
to get automatic translation of the URL.

I see. Of course, this is not too convenient for me, since I have a bit
of work in my local repo already. (And not only branches, which I could
fetch easily, but also stashes - they could be fetched, too, but with
more work.)

Thanks anyway,

Out of curiosity: would making such change "in the middle of work"
(i.e., after cloning, some fetching etc.) disrupt anything? I guess
not, but I'm not sure.

Thanks,

Thanks for that, too, I can see that being useful when one uses multiple
repos from savannah.

The URL is only used by fetch and push (and ls-remote), and it points at
the very same repository anyway.
