I run one emacs as me, the other as root (with red background turned to remind me of my "batcommand" powers). Anyway, often I search for something in emacs A and then remember that I should have been searching in emacs B, and then I gots to type in the search string all over again or do ... C-s M-y or something more that just the C-s C-s that I want to. Anyway: two emacses, different UID's, same $DISPLAY.
