My thought is that it might be particularly helpful for people learning more C for Emacs development, because it's written by Richard. Some of the thinking behind the less usual ways in which C gets used for Emacs might become clearer, perhaps? Having not yet read the manual, my opinion counts for little. -- Sean Whitton
