If you check this page:

you will quickly find it (on
http://www.tei-c.org/Software/tei-emacs/index.xml.ID=install). It mentions
EmacsW32 (what I use, e.g.) but you can find several other emacses for MS
Windwows on http://www.emacswiki.org/cgi-bin/wiki/CategoryWThirtyTwo.
If you don't have a running emacs yet, then it can be a good idea to try a
"latest and greatest" CVS emacs -- however I don't know the tei stuff: can
they be used with Emacs v22?

Thank you, but that page doesn't say much of anything. I've tried
to install tei-emacs on emacs-w32 / winxp and on cvs-emacs gnu/linux.
It's the latter that I would actually like to accomplish tei-emacs
installation, but man, I cannot find documentation.
This is my point of departure:

but cannot get further than that.
