I just did, with a fresh CVS checkout on 2009-08-22:

make distclean
./configure --with-ns
make

... the usual output ...

I was able to proceed by commenting out the whole file.

If Emacs crashed, and you have the Emacs process in the gdb debugger,
please include the output from the following gdb commands:
    `bt full' and `xbacktrace'.
If you would like to further debug the crash, please read the file
/Users/tzz/Desktop/Emacs gnus.app/Contents/Resources/etc/DEBUG for instructions.

It also works (did it yesterday) just to delete the emacs/lisp/org/*.elc
files before running make.

Sorry for the false alarm.  I think this is the second time I've
forgotten to run `make bootstrap'.  I think the problem really is
between the keyboard and the chair ;)
