I know of at least three packages that do this or something very
similar:

    1. project-x: https://github.com/karthink/project-x
    2. Burly: https://github.com/alphapapa/burly.el
    3. bookmark-view: https://github.com/minad/bookmark-view

There's also the builtin desktop.el library.
