edb maintainership transfer

folks,

just got kind word from Michael Ernst that it is ok for me to take
over maintenance of edb, the emacs database (which he wrote).

i'm aware that the latest published version is 1.21, and that
there have been in the intervening years several bugfixes here and
there, some posted some merely hinted at.

this message is a request to those interested in getting their
bugfixes integrated, to repost them to gnu - emacs - sources.
please use "diff -c" format against edb-1.21 files, and include a
changelog entry, for best chance of acceptance.

for now, please defer submitting changes other than bugfixes.
(you can submit them, but i won't look at them until i understand
the current code better, which could take awhile, depending on my
brain and the vagaries of its immediate environment.)

feel free to distribute this message widely for about a month or
two.  i hope to make a bugfix-only edb-1.22 release by then.
after that, we will see what happens.

Thanks, thi!  From time to time, I've been wondering whether EDB
might solve my problem, but then I never tried to get it running.
