23.0.60; Mousehighlighting goes bonkers over syntax highlighting with different fonts

Using occur in a syntax highlighted buffer which uses enlarged fonts, I
get the following screen shot:

Both the occur highlighting and the mouse over highlighting leave
something to be desired.  The mouse highlighting is arguably completely
wrong.  When using C-u C-u C-x = in the original buffer at a suitable
point, I get

This is bug #129, which is supposedly fixed in Handa's local tree.  I
have a patch to fix this in my copy of Emacs, but it's better to wait
for Handa's fix to make merging easier.

Yes, and sorry for being late in merging.  I've just setup
Windows machine, and am now trying to make the new code at
least compilable and runnable on Windows.
