There's been a lot of discussion about making Emacs more Eclipse-like in terms of workspaces, tabs, and other organizational features. This transpired on the emacs-devel list and you should look through the messages if you have the time (there's hundreds). They specifically addressed tabs, though the goal is to improve the overall experience, not necessarily copy features and terminology from Eclipse. Ted
