bug#37496: 27.0.50; C-s failing to search

I have noticed that C-s, including C-M-s is failing to search. And this
happens in all buffers. It is strange. I have not changed any settings
in the mean time.

I was using mostly Dired buffers, and C-x C-q to edit Dired buffers,
that is what I remember.

I do not know how to reproduce this. Emasc daemon was running less than
24 hours.
