I see. This is because common-parent-directory is defined as:
(if (> (length common-prefix) 0)
(file-name-directory common-prefix))
But maybe it should also have the 'else' branch like:
(if (> (length common-prefix) 0)
(file-name-directory common-prefix)
"")
