A novice user will be more comfortable at first using firefox rather than info-mode, more comfortable using nautilus rather than dired, and more comfortable using nano rather than a major mode from Emacs. So it would seem that it is better for a novice not to use Emacs at all, and consequently we need not accommodate novices according to your logic, since they have no business learning Emacs.
