There is no clear notion about when to abandon history, and which parts of "going back in time" are actually intended as a forward change. If you want to ignore this, there is redo.el, and apart from that CVS-Emacs has undo-only which just goes backwards without destroying the undo history when you add new changes. -- David Kastrup, Kriemhildstr. 15, 44793 Bochum
