My new experiment with a single display, the dock at left and menu line
at top:

(display-monitor-attributes-list)
(((name . "eDP-1") (geometry 0 0 1920 1080) (workarea 55 27 1865 1053) (mm-size 309 174) (frames #<frame *notmuch-id:2b232b16-497e-22d8-a395-9fae6e87add7@gmx.at* 0x5289930> #<frame test-frame-set-position-Martin-1.el 0x624cc90>) (source . "Gdk")))

(modify-frame-parameters nil '((user-position . t) (left . 0) (top . 0)))
nil
(pl-lt)
" LEFT=45 TOP=19"
