You need to tell Emacs that your terminal can display iso-8859-15 characters. Type C-x RET t to do that. If you choose the right locale, then Emacs will know both things and you don't need to tell it. That's why I started using LC_CTYPE=de_DE@euro recently. -- Ambibibentists unite!
