Using .NET(Mono, since cross platform is a goal) for interpretation and byte
compilation, letting the user pick and choose which language to use for configuration
and programming add-ons and modes.

It would be great IMHO to be able to write .emacs in Python, Perl, C, or C++,
as well as create extensions in those languages.

Does this idea sound interesting?
