Hi!
I am unable to open any directory with dired at this point. As detailed
below, I am using Emacs 29 via snap. The stacktrace is attached below
and was produced with an empty .emacs: simply starting Emacs, C-x C-f
and pressing enter.

This was fixed 2 days ago, so please update from Git and rebuild.

This looks like it might be the same as bug#58870. I think you need to
update to revision 44f1b1edcf74de3be7251780f058b29ccd038150 or newer.
