Hi!

The first pretest for what will be the 26.2 release of Emacs
(the extensible text editor) is available at

  ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/emacs/pretest/emacs-26.1.90.tar.xz

You can get the PGP signature at

  ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/emacs/pretest/emacs-26.1.90.tar.xz.sig

Please give it as much testing as you can.

As always, if you encounter problems building or using Emacs,
send a report to bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org with full details
(if possible, use M-x report-emacs-bug).

Thanks for helping to test Emacs.

Cheers,
Nico

Thanks, Nicolas.

At this time I would like to ask everybody here to build this pretest
and use it for day-to-day jobs, to facilitate its efficient testing.

Thanks in advance.

I just built master this morning and web-mode does not work as it did yesterday.
Namely:
• it doesn't automatically close a tag when </ is typed
• it doesn't indent child tags when typing a tag inside a block

When I do M-x web-mode within web-mode I get the following error:
Lisp nesting exceeds ‘max-lisp-eval-depth’

I don't remember having done anything special to my configuration between yesterday and today, besides for this build.

Did you really mean "master", i.e. the master branch? Emacs 26.1.90
was produced from the emacs-26 branch, not from master.

If this is about the 26.1.90 pretest, then my naïve attempt to
reproduce this, by loading the latest web-mode into "emacs -Q" and
then editing in web-mode buffer, failed: what you say stopped working
for you did work for me.

So please submit a full bug report with all the details, including a
recipe to reproduce the problem starting from "emacs -Q" and loading
everything you need (web-mode, obviously, but also whatever else is
needed for reproducing the issue). Please use report-emacs-bug to
include in the report important details about your build and run
environment.

Thanks.

Ok. I'll check again. Sorry for the noise.

Thanks for doing this.

I don't yet see a Windows binary here:

https://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/emacs/pretest/windows/emacs-26/

Is it somewhere else, or is there none available yet?

OK, thanks for the quick confirmation. No hurry.

Windows Binaries for this release are now available at:

https://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/emacs/pretest/windows/emacs-26/

Apologies for the delay. The uploading took longer than expected!

No apology necessary. Thanks.
