I've just cherry-picked your commit into emacs-25 branch and it's working wonderfully. I'm happy > to mantain my own local branch, but just curious about the rationale. The rationale is that emacs-25 is the release branch which gets only very safe and urgent code changes, and changes in documentation. We could revisit this when/if release of Emacs 25.3 from that branch is being considered.
