I agree with Miles that I _should_ learn git. But the list of things I should do is very long, and I'm old enough to realize that some of them will probably never happen. In this case, investing my time in working in the bidirectional editing in Emacs sounds like a much more valuable contribution to Free Software than using that time on learning git (in addition to Bzr, which I will have to learn when Emacs switches to that).
