For the record, the recipe to reproduce the crash is very simple, no need for all the settings shown in the threads above: emacs -Q C-x C-f orgbug.org M-x org-columns RET Now try scrolling by clicking the down-arrow at the bottom of the scroll bar -- Emacs crashes.
