Well, does the same command fails in the same way when invoked from
the command line?  If so, just invoke it with the appropriate --eval
argument that increases the value of max-specpdl-size.

If that doesn't work, and you must re-bootstrap to recreate the
problem, then add that --eval to the command in the Makefile which
triggers these messages, and re-run bootstrap.
