I frequently run individual tests like this:

  cd test && make SOMETEST.log

For example, "make lisp/files-tests.log" will run just the tests in
files-tests.el. (Sometimes, I need to remove an existing .log file,
if Make says "SOMETEST.log is up-to-date".)
