Yes.  This is the result of 112072 and its Windows followup.

Personally, I think the non-ASCII text in these progress reports
should be suppressed, at least as an option that the Makefile could
use, because it is unsafe sending arbitrary non-ASCII characters to a
text terminal -- that's the reason for the beeps.  Patches (for
batch-skkdic-convert) are welcome.
