Hi,

I was recently puzzled to find the Info buffer directory header was
written in French (on Windows with UK English everything).

It turns out that this is caused by the 'dir' file in the auctex 11.87.1
package from GNU ELPA. I would expect this text to be in English.

Indeed, I would expect that as well.

I guess it's because I generated it from one of my computers with
a fr_CH or fr_CA locale (I generally prefer my computers to talk to me
in English, but when GNU/Linux started to support other languages,
I temporarily changed locale to see how it worked in practice, and since
then I have a mishmash of various locales on various computers and
I can't even remember where it's configured ;-).
