Subject: bug#1309: no doc on how to avoid startup screen while still loading .emacs customizations
Date: Fri, 7 Nov 2008 11:39:55 -0800	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <7D76650699E4354D90489A1BF623EEF1133D079C10@SP1-EX07VS02.ds.corp.yahoo.com> (raw)

I don't see the link; must be in newer versions only. As an aside, the option doesn't seem to be working with my version. If I type 'M-x eval-expression', 'inhibit-startup-screen', I see 't' in the status bar, but I'm still getting startup screens. Here is the text from my startup screen:

The startup screen itself has a link to "customize startup", where the
second entry is "inhibit startup screen".

Do you think we should try and make it more prominent? If so how?
