This isn't reproducible, sorry, but I thought I'd give a heads-up.

After the change of behaviour of point in *compilation* buffers in the
pretest, I set compilation-scroll-output to t, so that point is (meant
to be) at the end of the buffer and Emacs scrolls as compilation output
is inserted into the buffer.

However, occasionally, I notice scrolling stops during a compilation.
It has happened when a large amount of text has been inserted (eg, the
echo of the ar command being executed when building a large library),
though I cannot say that it only happens at that sort of time. The
result is that point remains at some point in the middle of a line, and
automatic scrolling therefore stops. It has happened when I am not
using Emacs (eg, when focus is on some other application) while a
recompile is in progress.

I never noticed this in 22.1. Simon.

In GNU Emacs 22.1.91.1 (sparc-sun-solaris2.8, Motif Version 2.1.0)
