It is rather clear = that you need to use the same method when you're not able to determine = how this method actually works and is possible having some potential = influence on exec-path, because launching "emacs" or "emacs -q" or = "emacs -Q" from some shell is likely to produce a GNU Emacs with correct = exec-path. If you think that your init file is changing exec-path, then search for = the string "exec-path" in that file with GNU Emacs' isearch!
