Building todays bzr trunk results in:

In toplevel form:
gnus/spam.el:58:30:Error: Symbol's value as variable is void: nnimap
make[3]: *** [gnus/spam.elc] Error 1
make[2]: *** [compile-main] Error 2
make[1]: *** [lisp] Error 2
make: *** [bootstrap] Error 2
