The above regexp does not work. The working regexp (when I try to open
a file at '//wolfdei/d/users/dhruva/_emacs') is as follows:
(defvar vc-ignore-dir-regexp "\\`\\([\\/][\\/]\\|/net/\\|/afs/\\)")
Hence, if I put the following line in my _emacs (dot emacs), it works fine:
(setq vc-ignore-dir-regexp "\\`\\([\\/][\\/]\\|/net/\\|/afs/\\)")
